Description:
AIDAN invites all residents to participate in our Rights Access and Support Day, a dedicated event focused on empowering individuals to understand and claim their legal and social rights. This day-long program is designed to dismantle barriers to services and provide personalized guidance on access to healthcare, housing, social benefits, education, and more.
The event begins with a morning plenary session where experts in social rights and legal aid will present an overview of the most common rights relevant to residents. Topics include eligibility for social welfare programs, tenants’ rights in collective housing, access to public health services, and youth rights in education and employment.
Following this introduction, attendees will have the opportunity to attend specialized workshops tailored to specific needs. Workshops will cover how to complete administrative paperwork, tips for effective communication with service providers, and strategies to overcome common obstacles such as language barriers or unfamiliarity with official procedures.
Throughout the day, AIDAN volunteers and professionals will provide one-on-one consultations. Residents can bring their questions, documents, or cases for personalized advice and support. Whether it’s assistance with filling out forms, understanding a notice, or preparing for meetings with public services, our team will be available to help.
A dedicated space will also be set up to assist youth and families, offering tailored support that respects their particular situations and needs. Information about local resources and community projects will be distributed to encourage ongoing engagement and self-advocacy.
To foster a welcoming and collaborative atmosphere, the event includes informal discussion circles where participants can share experiences and learn from each other’s challenges and successes. These peer exchanges are vital for building trust and solidarity within the community.
Light refreshments will be available throughout the day. No prior registration is required, and the event is fully free.
By attending this Rights Access and Support Day, participants gain valuable knowledge and confidence to navigate complex systems and claim the rights they deserve. It is an important step toward building a more equitable community where all residents have the tools to succeed.
