Date: Saturday, December 13, 2025
Location: AIDAN Premises, 58 Rue des Cedres, 91270 Vigneux-sur-Seine
Time: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Description:
Youth are vital to the vitality of any community, and their active participation enriches social life and shapes a better future. The Youth Dialogue and Participation Workshop at AIDAN invites young people aged 15 to 25 to engage in meaningful conversations about their role in the community and how they can contribute to local decision-making processes.

The afternoon begins with a facilitated discussion on the challenges young people face in the neighborhood and their perspectives on local opportunities and barriers. This safe space encourages open expression of ideas, frustrations, hopes, and aspirations without judgment.

Following this dialogue, participants will be introduced to the concept of civic engagement and youth participation. They will explore examples of youth-led initiatives and learn about existing platforms for involvement at local and municipal levels.

A key part of the workshop involves practical group activities where youth collaboratively design mini-projects addressing issues important to them—whether it be creating safe hangout spaces, organizing cultural events, or improving communication between generations. Groups will develop project proposals, including goals, resources needed, and steps for implementation.

AIDAN staff will provide guidance on how to advocate for support from local authorities, mobilize community members, and sustain youth initiatives over time. This empowerment approach ensures that young participants leave with both inspiration and concrete skills.

The event concludes with a reflective circle, where participants share their experiences of the day, provide feedback, and discuss next steps to maintain youth engagement in community life. AIDAN offers ongoing mentorship and support for those who wish to continue developing their projects.

Refreshments will be served, and attendance is free, making this workshop accessible to all interested young people.

This event is an opportunity for youth to be heard, valued, and empowered—ensuring that the voices shaping our community today are diverse, engaged, and proactive.
