The Hull Food website is supposed to help young people in the city to eat healthier

Young people in Hull have created a website to access their colleagues about information about nutrition and improve their health.

Hull’s young mayor and youth representative is a group of volunteers between the ages of 11 and 17 who meet weekly to discuss guidelines and services that are important to them.

They developed the Food & Solutions website after they had carried out research in which “young people in Rumpf found many obstacles when accessing high -quality food and the search for support in the community”, said Hull City Council.

Council member Linda Tock, portfolio owner for children’s services, said: “The new resource you created … will provide young people and their families valuable information that may need support for food.”

The website contains facts and tips on nutrition, affordable recipes that are “” proven “and tested” by the young people, as well as details of local organizations that can use people for help and guidance.

The volunteers Emily and Isabel said that they hoped that the initiative “had a positive impact on many people” and would help support the health and well -being of young people.

The website was financed with a scholarship from the Smile Foundation, which corresponds to the head fund of the authority.
